Keith has told he has favourite nothing. (Well, I suppose "what is your favourite..." can be
sometimes quite annoying question.) But he still likes some things
better than others.
Favourite writer: Keith likes the short
stories of the French author Guy de Maupassant
Favourite plays: Arthur Miller's "The
Crucible" and "Hamlet"
Favourite actor: Montgomery
Keith Hamilton has two sisters - Pamela and Lane - who are physicians.
Keith's mother - Mary Lane Cobb - is a retired physician, and father
James a mechanical engineer. Keith has often told that his biggest
inspiration are his hard working African American parents.
Origin of name: KEITH - There's no particular reason, why Keith is Keith. His
just liked that name. However, Keith has found that this name has
Celtic origin and it means "wood dweller". HAMILTON - Keith's middle name was given to him in honour of his
mother's colleague whose name was Hamilton. COBB - It originates from North Carolina as Keith's father's
Who is Keith?
Keith is ... Keith - himself. Fans often ask him (or try to figure
out by themselves), who is the person Keith Hamilton Cobb.
His main answer has been: very private person, and another
point: you can't find out who is the person by asking it but
by observing - and it takes very long observation. Still, he has
been more generous in supplying fans with issues to observe, than
it's apparent at first.
Keith's own words to described himself (he uses wonderful emblems):
journeyman, lone pilgrim"
(...which was actually answer to question, what his epitaph
would say) - I somewhy think this "lone" is not missing the
company and invitation, but rather vice versa ;
- My favourite emblem, he has used, is: "the
befuddled itinerant minstrel with the tin ear, just slightly
misfit, as we all are, and should be". (That has stirred
me enough to be actually the trigger why this page is done,
instead of just link - "learn more about
Keith in his homepage". I'm utterly fond of the emblem and
equally much of the conclusion - don't fear to be yourself -
different - everybody are, and should be.)
Question: "Excluding world peace, miracle cures, and an end to
starvation, what one gift would you choose to give to every person on
this planet if you could?" Keith's answer: "Clear
self-perception, introspection ..."
Keith is a virtuoso on words, so I'm placing myself into
unjust comparison, when trying to describe my impressions about
Keith. ... But so what? ... I would say "the cat who walks by
himself" but a cat (and the Kipling's cat)
doesn't seem the most propriate comparison. So rather a bear ... who is
walking in own path, ... purposeful bear, ... and a kind bear
... and mischievous when he wants ... a bear of a very special kind.
There is a certain reason why I'm so inclined to compare Keith with a
bear. Once upon a time in his official message board, I was quoting to Keith "Winnie-the-Pooh"
and KEITH ANSWERED me: "Christopher
Robin, bees S-U-S-P-E-C-T something."
